INTERESTING TIMES - THE SECRET OF MY SUCCESS

A small Chinese village is getting prepared for the upcoming village council elections. Mr Liu is a politician opposing the outspoken Mrs Lu. The crucial issue of the elections turns out to be the question about birth control. The film was awarded at Amsterdam Film Festival and it belongs to the series "Interesting Times" (co-production of BBC, ARTE, the Finnish Broadcasting Company, etc.) which has enabled young Chinese directors to carry out their visions about today's China.

SADDAM AND THE KURDS

Gideon Gitain's documentary about Kurdistan. Saddam Hussein has killed around 250,000 Kurds in Iraq, and the majority of the Kurd villages in North Iraq have been destroyed. During the director's visit, the Kurds enjoy the fragile peace, honour the deceased and hope for the better future.
