ELIHÚ GALVÁN (b. 1972)

Elihú is a Mexican theatre director, whose ambition is to also direct films. He moved permanently to Finland in spring 2004.

Elihú graduated from Mexico’s Russian theatre school. In 1998-2002, he produced many theatre and dance performances in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, and Paraguay. In 2003 he organised many events about Aztec dance around Finland, with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Finland and Tinku ry.

In October 2004, Elihú directed the Nerudan herkkuja performance (Suculencias Nerudianas) in honour of the centenary of Pablo Neruda’s birth. The play Kuningatar K (La Reyna C), arranged and directed by Elihú, was performed in Autumn 2005.

Elihú has directed several short documentaries for the Mundo television programme and one Basaari documentary. He is currently working on many different cultural productions, and is also widening his skills for radio and press work.
