MARIA FRIMAN (b. 1980)
 Maria has been writing for the Romani publication Romano Boodos for two years. Her articles have also been published in the Human Rights Report of the Finnish League for Human Rights, and in Ydin magazine.
She appears as a presenter on the Pykäliä ja purtavaa series that begins on YLE Teema in autumn 2006, where she has also been planning and producing short reports. Previously, Maria has directed one Basaari documentary and several short documentaries for the Mundo television programme. She has also produced a six-part series about the Roma people commissioned by the Ministry of Labour for training purposes.
Maria is also part of the scriptwriting team planning a series of inserts for the YLE TV2’s Pikku Kakkonen children’s programme. In spring 2007, she will start as a director in an episodic documentary project.
