TAHIR ALIYEV (b. 1979)
 Tahir is from Azerbaijan and moved to Finland in December 2004.
Studying history at the state university in Baku, Tahir graduated as a researcher into the history of international affairs. He has worked as the coordinator for the Finland-Azerbaijan Kulttuurisilta and as the project coordinator for many cultural festivals. He was production manager on Pirjo Honkasalo’s film Three Rooms of Melancholia and assistant producer on Aino Halonen’s film trilogy.
Tahir appears as a presenter on the Pykäliä ja purtavaa series that begins on YLE Teema in Autumn 2006, where he is also involved in planning and producing short reports for the programme. He has directed several short documentaries for the Mundo television programme and worked as a producer on many radio and television projects. He has also been working as an assistant director in YLE TV1’s Poikkeustila series and is starting as a director in an episodic documentary project in spring 2007.
In the future, Tahir wants to develop further as a producer and to establish his own production studio.
