Tipi´s comments

Hortling has to my mind chosen some excellent works for the first round. The Kokkonen sonata and Lindberg’s Partia. Good! I wish the Finnish contestants had chosen even more Finnish music.
He is also one of the few who has chosen Boccherini for round two. Bold, innovative choices that hopefully pay off.
Hortling came 4th in both the two previous Turku Cello Competitions. Time now to test his wings in an international competition.
