The crucial issue of the elections turns out to be the question about birth control. The film was awarded at Amsterdam Film Festival and it belongs to the series "Interesting Times" which has enabled young Chinese directors to carry out their visions about today's China.

In the peace treaty of the Winter War, Stalin demanded Finland to lease the city of Hanko to the Soviet Union as a military base for 30 years. In March 1940, the city was emptied and the 30,000 Soviet soldiers and civilians entered it. Karsnij Gangut, the mythical, Russian, red Hanko was born.
