HUUTO HAUDASTA
Ohjaaja Leslie Woodheadin pysähdyttävä dokumenttielokuva Huuto haudasta käy hetki hetkeltä läpi Srebrenican joukkomurhan tapahtumat vuodelta 1995.
Heinäkuussa 1995 bosnialaisessa Srebrenican pikkukaupungissa tapahtui Euroopan karmaisevin joukkomurha sitten toisen maailmansodan. 7000 muslimimiestä teloitettiin säälimättömästi. Silminnäkijöiden ja aiemmin julkaisemattoman järkyttävän arkistomateriaalin avulla dokumentti kertoo tarinan raakalaismaisista 72 elämän ja kuoleman tunnista, jolloin muslimipakolaiset kohtasivat matkansa pään YK:n suoja-alueella. Bosnian serbit kaappasivat heidät hollantilaisilta rauhanturvaajilta, teloittivat heidät alueen pelloilla, kouluissa ja varastoissa ja hautasivat heidät joukkohautoihin.

A CRY FROM THE GRAVE
A Cry A from the Grave is a feature-length documentary looking at the massacre of over 7,000 Muslim men in Bosnian town Srebrenica in July 1995. This story of the days of the massacre is a unique document of how ethnic wars are conducted at the end on the 20th century, Europe's worst massacre since World War 2. With first-hand witnesses and previously unknown archive, the film tells the story of a brutal 72 hours in the life and death of the Muslim refugees in this United Nations safe area. They were taken by the Bosnian Serbs from the protection of Dutch peacekeepers, executed in the fields, schools and warehouses around the area and buried in mass graves.
The film also tells of the aftermath of the massacre, of the women who continue to search for their men whom they believe may still alive, and major effort by the International War Crimes Tribunal to find and prosecute the men responsible for the massacre. The trial of a senior Bosnian Serb officer Radislav Krstic takes place in The Hague next year.
The film includes astonishing video material shot in Srebrenica during July 1995, much of it never seen before. This story of the days of the massacre is a unique document of how ethnic wars are conducted at the end on the 20th century.It retraces the stories of survivors of the massacre, giving a human face to the harrowing statistics.
The fundamental theme of A Cry A from the Grave is how, at the end of the 20th century, we deal with a such a bloody enormity the heart of Europe. Is a judical resolution possible for such a war crime, and what can international justice offer the victims of the massacre?
