	In English MUSIKAALIT MIELESSÄIN Arthur Freed (1894 - 1973) on mies monien Hollywoodin unohtumattomien musikaalien takana. Hänen käsialaansa ovat muun muassa Pariisin lumoissa, Gigi, Tyttö ja kosija, Ilo irti, Laulavat sadepisarat ja Ihmemaa Oz. David Thompsonin ohjaama englantilaisdokumentti Musikaalit mielessäin (Musicals Great Musicals: The Arthur Freed Story) kertoo näiden upeiden musikaalien tekemisestä ja niihin osallistuneista ihmisistä. This documentary is a portrait of how these great musicals were made, with extensive use of film extracts and new interviews with many of those who took part in them, both in front of and behind the camera. Beginning with the box office success of the Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney films Babes in Arms and Strike Up The Band, the Freed Unit broke the mould of musical film-making by creating a movie musical which fully integrated story, character, song and the dance. Arthur Freed's greatest asset was his ability to recognize talent on all levels and to cultivate an environment in which this talent could flourish.
