Dokumentin aihe on mitä mielenkiintoisin: sokeat lapset ja heidän intohimonsa valokuvaukseen.Tämä dokumentti sokeista lapsista on haaste meidän jokapäiväisille elämänarvoille. Se auttaa meitä katsahtamaan sokeiden kätkettyyn elämään. Voimme nähdä näiden lasten spontaanin ja yllättävän kiinnostuksen valokuvaukseen. Näemme kuinka he ottavat valokuvia ja saamme myös nähdä heidän työnsä tuloksen.
Vaikka elämä on vaikeaa ja vaativaa, sokeat lapset kestävät osansa hiljaa ja usein paljon paremmin kuin me tavalliset. Sokeus ei ole heille este elämässä. He opiskelevat ja harrastavat samoja asioita kuin muutkin lapset. He vain joutuvat tekemään sen eri tavalla.
Ennen kaikkea, Näkemättömiä kuvia näyttää kuinka tärkeää toiminta on sokeille lapsille. Se näyttää heidän elämäänsä sisäoppilaitoksessa, heidän kosketuksensa luontoon, paljon haastatteluita ja heidän vuorovaikutuksen ympäröivän maailman kanssa. Dokumentti auttaa meitä ymmärtämään heidän intensiivisen, rikkaan ja täyteläisen elämän.

THE UNSEEN
This documentary film on the blind children is a sensitive quest for our common values of life and enables us to glance at the secluded world of the blind. It is a powerful experience to see photographs that are free from conventionality and taken with love to the surrrounding world. These photographs evoke lots of thoughts about the visual chichés of us who can see, that is to say, about what our vision is like. We tend to select in a specific way from our permanent visual perception of the world. The present day sophisticated image forming technology gluts us with its images to such an extent that we constantly jump from one vision to another while loosing sensitivity. We are not cogitative beings any more and have tendency to think in superficial stereotypes.Blind children take photos of things they have never seen and will never see. They show us with joy and ease the image of their world perceived through "pictures" of sounds, touches and other sensual experiences. Many a time their world is purer and more profound than that of ours, with its visual over saturation which makes us blind. They try to prove (both in their life and in this film) that they are able to stand the test of life as much as the other children are. Most people assume that blindness means darkness and void, which arouses fear in them.
It would be impossible for us to play at the blind even if we closed our eyes. One can only become blind or be born as such. The rich inner life of blind children that can be only partly captured on the sensitive film layer arouses lots of thoughts and questions. The image of the world born in their minds and hearts has the faculty to illuminate dark nooks of our minds and thus provoke dialogue.
In the documentary we can see the spontaneous and unexpected interest of the blind children in photography, the way they take photos as well as the results of their work. Above all, the film shows in importance of this activity for the children. It captures their life in the boarding school, their contact with nature, lots if interviews and other interactions with the surrounding world and thus tries to get us tuned to their perception of the world. We do not feel pity for them but stay in admiration for their intensive, rich and fulfilled life. Even though it is difficult and demanding they bear their fate quietly and often better than we do.
