RAKKAUTTA MOSAMBIKILAISITTAIN
Rakkautta mosambikilaisittain kertoo 12-vuotiaasta Betinhosta, joka on paennut sotaa setänsä Salomáon luokse Maputon lähiöön. Betinho asuu ja työskentelee setänsä omistamassa baarissa.Betinho löytää hääkuvan Salomáosta ja tämän entisestä vaimosta, Juliasta. Nyt Julian tiedetään asuvan yhdessä väkivaltaisen miehen, Saiden kanssa. Eräänä päivän Saide tulee baariin ja varastaa hääkuvan. Betinho saa varkauden selville ja menee setänsä luo kertomaan tapahtuneesta. Tämän seurauksena Salomáo ryntää Saiden kotiin ja nujertaa hänet pienen tappelun jälkeen. Uteliaille ihmisille kerrotaan tapauksen olleen vain rakkauden aiheuttamaa riitaa. Salomáo ottaa Betinhoa kädestä ja he lähtevät. Betinho kysyy sedältään, voisiko hän alkaa kutsua tätä isäksi...

THE GAZE OF THE STARS
Betinho is a young man who ran away from the war and now lives with his uncle Salomáo, the owner of a bar in one of the big city's poor suburbs. He used to live with his grandmother, an old story teller who never explained clearly to Betinho who his parents were.Salomáo, a well respected man, lived alone after his wife left him. He welcomed Betinho in his home and keeps a distant relationship, sometimes intermingled with some tenderness.
Saide, always drunk, is a target of mockery and criticism for constantly abusing his wife, Julia, who is said never to leave home because of the shame of showing the marks of the beatings on her body.
Julia, Salomáo's ex-wife, left him because she wanted to study and improve her condition. Salomáo, a male chauvinist by tradition, did not accept it and she left, moving in with Saide some time later.
Betinho finds an old wedding picture of his uncle standing beside his ex-wife. The kid is fascinated by the picture and returns to a long-forgotten childhood. At night he concentrates again on the picture that he kept and he is almost caught with it by Salomáo who, in a rare moment of intimacy, explains to Betinho the the stars in the sky are eyes of those who died in love.
