ALASTON AMERIKKA
Valokuvaaja Spencer Tunik matkasi Amerikan osavaltiot pyytäen ihan tavallisia mattimeikäläisiä olemaan hänelle alastonmalleina. Hän kuvasi kaikenkokoisia, -muotoisia ja -värisiä ihmisiä julkisissa tiloissa, kaduilla ja vähän omituisimmissakin paikoissa.
Monen kiehtovan kuvan kuvaustilanteet ovat enemmän kuin hupaisia, joten yksi kuva ei aina kerrokaan ihan kaikkea. Tunikin alastonkuvat ovat kuin toisesta universumista: monipuolisen puolueeton näkökulma paitsi alastomaan ihmiseen, myös alastomuuden kokemiseen, seksuaalisuuteen ja niiden heijastumiseen ihmiseen ja yhteiskuntaan, asenteisiin ja koko kulttuuriin.

NAKED STATES
Would you take your clothes off in public? Would your banker? Your neighbor?Naked States is a feature-length film documenting one man's journey as he photographs naked people in public places.
Artist Spencer Tunick's subjects are not paid models,
but ordinary citizens and the film travels with Spencer on
his provocative Naked States tour as he photographs America.
Naked States exposes America's current attitudes towards nudity, sexuality, body image, and all the other baggage that comes up when we take off our clothes. Spencer began shooting nudes five years ago in the anonymity of Manhattan's crowded streets, attracting national attention by having 150 people throw off their clothes in the middle of Time's Square, which is the opening sequence of the documentary. Since then, his work has gained national and international notoriety.
Hailed as a true artistic pioneer, his numerous exhibits and television appearances in the United States and Europe have created a growing worldwide following. His ambition is to "redefine the way we look at our country and ourselves" by shooting pictures that reveal the truth about our bodies, our cities, and our attitudes. Spencer creates striking and beautiful images that inspire intense feelings and force us to question our reactions. Agreeing to pose for Spencer is a way for individuality and the stories of some of his subjects unfold alongside Spencer's own personal story in this funny and thought provoking look at America disrobed.
