Tiiu on entinen matematiikanopettaja, jonka nousu alkoi piirakoitten ja kukkien myynnillä Tallinnan Viru-kadulla. Lapsuutta oli varjostanut valintatilanne vanhempien avioeron yhteydessä, nuoruutta nöyryyttävä avioliitto, mutta tänään Tiiun kasvoille leviää voittajan hymy - hänellä on niin rakkautta kuin rahaa. Selluliittihieronta auttaa rentoutumaan ja alentamaan kohonnutta verenpainetta. Erityisiä rauhan hetkiä Tiiu kokee kastekirkossaan ja Hiidenmaan rannalla sijaitsevassa kosmisessa pisteessä, johon ylhäältä päin virtaa voimia antavaa mystistä energiaa.

Paitsi äitienpäiväjuhlissa liikuttava hyväntekijä, Tiiu Silves on kosmopoliitti, joka valppaine miesapureineen kiitää autolla Moskovaan tai yksityislentokoneella Zürichiin. Silves-yhtiöllä on firmoja 21 maassa, työntekijöitä yli 1500. Tiiu Silveksen moninainen, mutta enimmäkseen metallikauppaan perustuva liiketoiminta on ollut mahdollista yhteiskunnallista murroskautta elävällä raja-alueella. Nopeat ja rohkeat ovat osanneet käyttää hyväkseen niitä mahdollisuuksia, joita kautta maailman sivu tällaiset ääritilanteet ovat luoneet. Mutta nyt kun metalli on imuroitu niin Venäjältä kuin Virosta - nyt mielessä pyörivät jo uudet suuret suunnitelmat.

The Cinderella on Tallinn

Today she is the president of the Silves Enterprise Inc. Her old school mate, her right hand and the last chief of KGB of Soviet-Estonia, Rein Sillar, leads the company's Noscow branch. Tiiu Silves has stated that the turnover of her company exceeds many times the budget of Estonia.

There are many sides in Tiiu Silves's personality. Tiiu's life was shaped and shadowed by communist order - parades, oaths to Soviet leaders, pioneer and Komsomol activities.

Is it a matter of natural talent, an endogenous instinct which at the favourable moment breaks forth and rapidly starts to realize itself? Is it possibly a compensation fpr a loss experienced in childhood, a secret of the past? Does one have to grasp everything of the present - in the way it has always been done in connection with great historical changes?

Tiiu Silves is a tough business woman but also a very romantic person. Love means everything to her. When there is time for vacation, Tiiu spands it on the island of Hiiumaa where there is a spot in which "there is a direct connection to the cosmos and you get more power and evergy".
