Pala palalta -dokumentissa ohjaaja Sharon Shamir seuraa molempia koomikoita kiertueen aikana ja rekisteröi yleisön reaktioita. Yleisö, joka oli jo nähnyt tämän purevan esityksen televisiossa, oli poissa tolaltaan koomikoiden Rabin-imitaatiosta. Vähän ajan kuluttua heidän täytyi sopeuttaa esityksensä israelilaiselle yleisölle. Dokumentti näyttää myös, kun koomikot tapaavat Israelin kuuluisimman koomikon, Tuvia Tsafirin, jonka kanssa he vaihtavat ajatuksia siitä, kuinka imitoida Yasser Arafatia. PEACE BY PIECE

The film follows the two days in Jordan before departure, the excitement and hope, the last rehearsals and the farewell to the families. For the first time, the lives of affluent, sophisticated Jordanian artists are revealed to Israeli viewers, painting lives and views of those in Jordan who are supportive of the peace process.

While visiting the old city of Jerusalem, they face hostility both from Palestinians who think their visit is too early, considering the political situation, and from the Israel police who bar them from entering the Wailing Wall without identification papers, unwilling to distinguish the visitors from "any Arab".

The film builds up towards the main event of the tour: the performance at the Camery Theater in Tel-Aviv, in English, to an Israeli audience. The show turns out to be a great success, as they receive a long standing ovation aimed at their courage and the event's historical significance, as well as at its entertainment qualities. This euphoric atmosphere is abruptly terminated as Hisham is notified, in front of the camera, of his being expelled from the Jordan Writers Association due to the tour.

With a heavy heart, they return to Jordan in fear of losing their audience and popular status. But within a few weeks, it becomes clear that the Jordanian people are voicing their support by filling their theater and being a more enthusiastic audience than ever.
