There’s a little place called Cider Hill, where we used to watch the sea.
As it rolled in from America, in the days when we were free.
You had a dream back then, someday you’d change the world.

Everybody has a place in time, where stars fall in line
When every colour shines and lights up your life.
Everybody has a magic moment that they remember still
Mine was there with you on Cider Hill.

Well it had to come that stupid day, when you called to say goodbye
You were leaving for America and you told me not to cry.
I had a dream back then, you would come back someday.

Everybody has a place inside where memories stand still
And there I see you smiling on Cider Hill.

I saw your pictures in the paper; it seems you really found your dream.
I know I said I wouldn’t cry... but I lied.

Everybody has a place in time, where stars fall in line,
when every colour shines and lights up your life.
Everybody has a magic moment that they remember still
In mine, I’m there with you on Cider Hill.

Everyday I watch the sea, wondering if you think of me
And how it used to be on Cider Hill.
