The finals have started

The first part of the finals of the Maj Lind Piano Competition started a moment ago at the Sibelius Academy Concert Hall. Beginning the chamber music finals was Finland’s 23-year-old Marko Mustonen, in a performance of the Ravel Piano Trio. The violinist was Annemarie Åström and the cellist Markus Hohti. Mustonen is the only one of the finalists to choose the Ravel trio. The others will play either the Piano Trio in E minor by Dmitri Shostakovich or that in C minor by Johannes Brahms. There was a large audience – much bigger than for the earlier rounds of the competition.
