The series examines the world’s energy future and searches for ecological alternatives to fossil fuels. It will provide viewers with basic information on renewable energy forms, their current technological developments and environmental effects as well as economic questions. The first part is an overview of the environmental problems posed by the traditional forms of energy and focuses on bioenergy. The second part sheds light to other alternative forms of energy already in the commercial phase, and the third part deals with the future visions: What new energy forms may soon be applicable, and what kind of research projects are under way?
