Toivonen sai kerran mahdollisuuden testata myös Marchin F1-autoa. Ensimmäisessä kokeilussaan märällä Silverstonen radalla hän oli heti yli sekunnin nopeampi kuin tallin vakiokuski Raul Boesel! 
Henkan isä Pauli Toivonen piti rata-autoilua isoilla formuloilla liian vaarallisena lajina, mikä osaltaan vaikutti Henkan valintaan siirtyä rallin puolelle.

Voi olla, että olisivat pärjänneetkin. Mitään Henkkoja he eivät kuitenkaan ole.
Tosin Tommin kokeillessa F1:stä ei auto oikein pysynyt lapasessa, mutta sehän kyllä osoittaa hänen yrittäneen kunnolla.

Tommi on kokenut moottoripyörälijä... Enduroa on ajanut iät ja ajat sekä nykyisin harrastaa myös trialia
Colin McRae ajaa myös endurolla ja hän onkin liittynyt monesti suurajojen alla Mäkisen enduroporukan seuraan pärräämään. Kolini on myös ajanut ärrärrää ja lentelee (ilmeisesti omalla) helikopterilla.

Hyundai ei osallistu San Remo ralliin ollenkaan. Syynä kuulemma kilpatallin ja valmistajan väliset rahakiistat.

Näinpä taitaa käydä. Muutama vuosi taitaa mennä...ennen kuin "HuiHai" nähdään kisoissa...jos sittenkään.
Ja Volkswagen lopettaa muuten myös kokonaan ralli touhut. Eli ei tule sitten volkkarikaan sitten WRC:llä kokeilemaan ollenkaan. Taitaa syynä olla nämä FIAn mahtavat säännöt. Volskinhan piti tulla kisoihin mukaan muutaman vuoden päästä WRC:llä. 
No...konserni panostaa nyt Skodillakin ralli touhuihin.

Kosti Katajamäen osallistuminen on varmistunut San Remo-ralliin. Ilmeisesti ajaa kauden loppuun Volskilla...hyvä niin, mutta ensi kaudesta ei vielä mitään tietoa.

Viime vuoden Saksan MM-rallissa tuli vettä toisena kisapäivänä, joten ulosajot johtuivat osaltaan myös säästä, eikä pelkästään irtohiekasta/mudasta asvaltilla.
Kyllä mielestäni Katalonia on mukavampi kilpailu kuin San Remo, koska tiet ovat Espanjassa leveämpiä ja vauhdit sen myötä kovempia. Ja pikku irtohiekka antaa kuskeille haastetta ja pitää heidät hereillä!

Martin will fight against the favourites
Sanremo : Shakedown [02/10/03 - 15:53]
Martin is feeling confident
he drivers were in Borghetto d'Aroscia this morning for the Shakedown of the Rally Sanremo.
Markko Martin was the fastest driver in front of Petter Solberg. The latest testing session seemed to give good results at Ford so the team is feeling optimistic for the Sanremo. Martin confirmed that the handling of his Focus on a dry surface was excellent and that if the weather stays dry, he believes in his chances to win.
At Subaru, the biggest improvement comes from the tyres. Solberg was positively impressed by the difference between the old and the new tyres. According to the Norwegian, the Impreza is ready to achieve its best result of the season on asphalt. Petter did four runs during the Shakedown before feeling completely happy with his car set-up.
Unlike Solberg, Tommi Makinen will have to use more conventional dampers, which are not, according to him, well adapted to the new Pirelli tyres. Because of that, Tommi will have to use the old style tyres.
Like it is often the case, the Peugeot drivers did only the minimum of work during the Shakedown. No problems for Richard Burns, who admits that the Sanremo is not his favourite event in the group of three asphalt rallies in October.
Carlos Sainz had a difficult week. The Spaniard had kidney stones and spent some time at the hospital. Everything is back to normal but Carlos is still wondering if the pain might come back and have an effect on his performance this weekend.
Sebastien Loeb's smile was a good indication that his Xsara was well prepared for the rally. The Frenchman is definitely one of the favourite to win. Colin McRae was also happy about his car's set-up and he made it clear that he will be aiming to win.
At Skoda, both drivers worked hard to make final adjustments on the Fabia. With only a little bit of time between the next few rallies, the team will not have a lot of time to make significant changes to the Fabia.
