    As young kid the German Dieter Dengler dreamed of becoming an American test pilot. During his first mission in Vietnam in 1966 he was shot and captured by the Vietcong. Werner Herzog tells Dengler's story in four episodes, and he does not take the distinction between fact and fiction too serious.
