SANAHIRVIÖIDEN MAAILMASSA

Pitkälti Lönnrot2017 projektin seurauksena viritellään kansainvälistä ennenkaikkea nettiin perustuvaa hanketta, joka yhdistäisi eri julkaisualustat golbaalissa prosessissa. Täytyy tunnustaa, että uuden median alueella on aikamoisia sanahirviöitä, kuten "global multi-media,crosssplatform. net-based 360 grades project."

Sunny Side Of Docissa pelkästään kutsutuille tarkotiettu palaveri meni niin hyvin, että jatkoa seuraa nyt eri tapahtumissa ( EsoDoc, Sheffield, IDFA, LINCT) ja mahdollisimman yksinkertainen kutsukin on julkaistu. Sen teksti on seuraava:

When searching for ideas and proposals of global, cross-media and multiplatform projects, the net as a first platform, DEADLINE 11.09.2009 sent to Arik Bernstein (arik@alma-films.com) and  Iikka.Vehkalahti@yle.fi

The theme is open . Until now there has been mentioned ideas like: borders, another Europe ( like David Lynch Interviews), poverty, what´s wrong with men, voices of women etc…

But what ever is the theme:

the project should be acceptable by the following criteria’s:

1.
It has to be global.

What does that mean?
1) The themes have to be universal.
2) Everybody should be capable to participate/to give their input to the project

What it does not mean?
The capability of attracting a global audience does not make the project Global in itself if the theme and creation method are local.
2.
The net is the first platform.

What does it mean?
3) That the project is planned foremost to be published in the net.
4) That the project would not be possible without the net.
5) The project can function also only in net and has to speak the language of the net.

What it does not mean?
- That the net is an additional/second or third platform to support the
main platform/s
- That the net should be the only platform,
3.
The project can function on different platforms.

What does it mean?
6) That the productions can be modified or translated to function
In different forms (short story, long documentary) or on different
Platforms (mobile phones, theatre, radio, installations etc…)

4.
The project has ongoing, continuous/non static nature.

What does it mean?
7) That the project is changing on the net all the time.
8) That the stories are on-going on the net
9) That the interactivity continues story lines and changes the project on the net.
10) That the project can have long/permanent lifespan.

What it does not mean?
- It does not mean VOD or net tv-channels or other forms of distribution of productions.

5.

The project is based on short form of storytelling

What does it mean?
11) That the project is based on clear kernel stories, to whom the first form Is short and mostly with a strong personal approach and that the form can be a story told:

a) by a person in front of camera
b) in a form of a short documentary
c) in a form of dialogue of two persons communicating with each others
d) in a form of videos sent by anyone
e) in a form of video blogs
f) in an another form, that is_______________

6.
The project is possible to be realized also on the other platforms (television, cinema, print media, mobile)

What does it mean?

a) The short stories come first and the other forms later.
b) That the stories of the project can support longer films or documentaries.
c) The stories of the project are potential to be modified to other formats or platforms or they find ways to be naturally modified or done on the other platforms.
d) That the other platforms can help with raising the necessary funds for the web project

7.
The project has to be realistic and ambitious at the same time

1. It has to have a clear and realistic finance strategy
2. It has to be by nature something that does not need exceptional capabilities
3. It has to be ambitious by content and form
4. It has to have strong interactive element, even anarchist by nature
5. It has to be capable to use and interest the existing social networks

AND

The project has a definite time table: We are expecting proposal by September 11, 2009

What do we expect:

1. 2-3 pages of the project and why it suits the guidelines above.
2. A financing strategy
3. Reference web addresses - not more than 3 for any project
4. Prospect of the potential partners

The process continues:

At Sheffield documentary film festival we will have a 2 hour session (participation by invitation only) where 5 projects will be introduced with a demo of net platform.

After Sheffield the process continues at IDFA with a similar kind of a session.

Between of these two we hope to have one session in New Delhi and 1-2 sessions on-line.

Result:

During 2010 we are prepared to start the first global
cross-platform project, the net as a first platform .
